It is a name that, in the great literature and languages of the past, had associations with mythic paradise, with immortality and the eternal, and with something beloved. Like the new name suggests, the quartet will continue to perform for its audiences the immortal, beloved music of the past while it looks also to commission new compositions to become the masterpieces of the future.

They create, inspire and commission works using cello, a bass, two voices, humor, a touch of theatre and a willingness to do most anything. Traveling the country, they entertain with cello/bass chestnuts, brave new works, daring arrangements, vocalizing and storytelling. Comments – “brilliant satire” ” never laughed so hard in my life.”

FULL MOON CLIMBS OF CAPE HATTERAS AND BODIE ISLAND LIGHTHOUSES

SEP 27, 2015

8210 Bodie Island Lighthouse Rd, Nags Head, NC 27959

Grab your flashlight and experience a lighthouse at night. Hear stories of keepers of old, view the working light close up in the lantern room, and catch the reflection off the Atlantic Ocean of the newly-risen full moon as you stand on the lighthouse balcony. Tickets to climb are required.

Children joining the climb must be at least 42-inches tall and must climb the steps on their own—they cannot be carried. Also, keep in mind that some youngsters may not enjoy the dimly lit, sometimes claustrophobic environment. Children 11 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult (16 or older).

Prior to purchasing tickets, consider your own limitations and those of your group. The lighthouse is tall, dark, often hot and humid, and can be a challenge to climb. There is no air conditioning or internal lights. The climb may be weather dependent.

After appearances on Last Comic Standing, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Star Search, and David Letterman, Moody McCarthy is no longer a well-kept secret. With sharp, versatile material and an old-school ethic, Moody has performed all over North America and Asia and left them wanting more. Moody’s material is described as smart and universal without being trite. Couple that with a disarming stage presence & in-the-moment chops, you’ll see why he’s earned the admiration of his peers for his ability to “go up cold” and turn a dormant setting into a lively comedy room. Now based in New York City, he’s become a regular in the town’s best rooms and grown into an act that thrives in any setting, from upscale country clubs to divey pubs. Weaving sly topical jokes with crafty material and a dash of crowd-work, Moody’s likeability shines in any setting!
