As a member of Google Adsense and Google Webmaster Tools I receive many emails from Google. Google is reiterating what I have said hundreds of times. You need to have a single website that is mobile compliant and PC compatible. Test your site here (a Google initiative).
If you don’t have a single website that does it all contact us today. Average cost to transfer a 5 to 7 page website so that it works on PC’s and Mobile is $1,500 with hosting as low as $99 per year. Advertising options also available that include hosting and a full range of Premium WordPress Plugins from WPMUDEV.org for as little as $99 per month.
Get enhanced (advertising) listings on our popular website directories, EverythingOuterBanks.com, EverythingOuterBanks.biz, OuterBanksCoupons.net and NContheweb.com our new state wide directory for North Carolina. Restaurants will also get enhanced listings on OBX-Restaurants.com. We have many additional resources just waiting to be developed. You will be added to all appropriate future directories at no additional charge.
Get the advertising package that includes enhanced listings on all the above for just $99 per month or pay annually and get it for $990 per year. Many places charge more than that for a coupon alone. We hold two first page Google positions for a search for Outer Banks Coupons and Sunny Day only has one! Add to that the thousands of search terms our other web directories are found for and you can’t beat our prices.
Manage your own listings on most sites with your own personal log in. Change your post, add new hours of operation, add or change pictures, change your coupon and more. Don’t have time to change your own info? Simply contact us to update your info for a single fee of $25 per request!

Domain names alone do not send more traffic to your website. You can have almost any domain and target it towards a search term. Example, I could buy xhaojfojad.com and target it towards Virginia Beach or Outer Banks Limo Service. A good domain makes it a little bit easier, mostly for humans. The Google Bot cares less about the domain name and more about the content.
When it comes to domain names the biggest factor is how long a domain name has been pointed at a hosted website talking about the subject it needs to be found for. Simply buying and redirecting a domain with the word Limo, Virginia Beach, Outer Banks etc., to your current website is not going to result in traffic. Also, a domain name that is “Parked” does not gain strength in the Google Index. You have probably seen a parked domain before. It usually looks a bit like a website to the untrained eye but there are ads and links on it that go to other websites. Here is an example of a Parked domain. http://outerbanks.info. This domain is Parked at the time of this writing. However, that could change if the owner decides to create an actual website under that domain.
Bottom Line:
If you receive offers to buy domains at a high price (more than $50) do your homework first. If you like the domain name and intend to actually hire a website and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) company like ours it might be worth it. If you plan to simply point it to your current website or attempt to develop and SEO the site yourself I would advise against it.
Recently I installed Cloudflare on our EverythingOuterBanks.com. Cloudflare does several things. If you did not know it there are hundreds to thousands of automatic robotic attacks against websites every month. On very popular websites there are also human controlled attacks. Cloudflare significantly reduces the attacks on your website. It also caches your web pages closer to the source requesting the page. For example, a Pennsylvania visitor will see a page cached closer to their location. This results in reducing the time it takes to display the information to the website visitor.
While Cloudflare is busy protecting your website it also gives you a statistical breakdown of legitimate website visitors, threats and good robots like the Google Bot which indexes pages on your website. These statistics are not detailed but they are more reliable than things like Google Analytics. Google Analytics requires a javascript code on every page of your website. In addition, some browsers and people remove javascript. This can lead highly inaccurate statistics. The second best statistics program, in my opinion, is AWStats which runs on the server and does not require javascript or special coding. It is very detailed. However, that is more information than the average person wants to know.
Below is a screen shot of our Cloudflare statistics for EverythingOuterBanks.com from 23 Sep to 23 Oct 2011. Click the image to see a larger view.
You will notice page views are the highest number sets. In a database driven system like ours page views are counted based on the database results pulled onto a page. For example, if you are in our website directory area you will see 10 results on a search. This is counted as 10 page views even though it appears on one page. If you are on a single blog post page it is one database page view since it is the only thing that appears on the page besides widget information etc.
You will also notice it gives you the number of Unique Visitors. This number can be very deceiving. First, the I.P. for a large office building will usually be static and only counted as one unique visitor. However, 20 people may be looking at your website from that one location. Second, Unique Visitors does not count regular visitors who may check in to our News Blog and other regular visitors who come back to find other things.
Last but not least these numbers do not include people viewing our website through an RSS feed reader. AWStats does provide that information. In September we had over 11 thousand views through our RSS feed. October has us over 7,000 so far and we have 7 days left. RSS feed statistics are actual people seeing our updates. Not bad for the “off season.”
What is the bottom line and why am I posting this under Outer Banks Business? Simply put it is to encourage you to think about working with us.
