Alligator River NWR Tram Tour – 11 May – Dare County Mainland

An open-air tram offers a leisurely tour through the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. Observe the wildlife and habitats of the refuge with a refuge volunteer to answer all your questions. Register in advance for $7 per person; children 12 and under may register for free with a paying adult. Unreserved seats will be filled at no charge on a first come/first serve basis the morning of the tour. Dress for the weather. Meet at Creef Cut Trail parking lot at the intersection of Milltail Rd. and Rt 64 east of Manns Harbor. The three-hour tour begins at 9:00am. 5K and Fun Run – Nags Head Woods – 11 May – Kill Devil Hills, NC

30th Annual Yuengling Nags Head Woods 5K and Fun Runs wind through the Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve. The 1-mile Fun Run starts at 8:00am, followed by the 5K at 8:30am. An Outer Banks Relay for Life fundraising event, the OBX Bark for Life will be held Saturday, May 4, 10am to 2pm at the PetSmart Parking Lot in Nags Head, NC. $10 per dog entry fee. Registration begins at 9:15 am and fun activities include an obstacle course, doggie decathlon, pet vendors, paw printing, pet adoptions, doggie massage, and more! A “HUGE” multi-family community yard that should not be missed! Come to shop or just look on, Saturday May 4th, 8:00 am – 12 noon in the South end parking lot nest to the Town Bank of Currituck at the Marketplace at Southern Shores, MP1 off Rt. 158, across the street from Walmart.

This is a great opportunity to not only shop for some great stuff at fantastic prices, but to meet new people too! At past community yard sales you could find things like…electronics, books, jewelry, crafts, furniture, collectables, art, children/adult clothing, toys, sports equipment, seasonal decorations, tools, garden and beach stuff, just to name a few!

The Marketplace at Southern Shores on the Outer Banks is easy to find! At approximately MP 1 off Rt. 158 (5543 N Croatan Hwy), just 2 miles South of the Wright Memorial Bridge on the left. Follow the signs, flags and traffic to the South end parking lot of the shopping center next to The Town Bank of Currituck. There is plenty of parking! Bring the pets too! See you there!!!!

Alzheimers Walk – Kill Devil Hills – 4 May

The Alzheimers Walk is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 in Kill Devil Hills with a barbecue dinner and beach music kick-off party on Friday evening, May 3. The Outer Banks Walk will start at Spring Arbor, 803 Bermuda Bay Blvd and end at The Thomas Baum Center. Please come out and enjoy a day of fun. There will be Face Painting, Fire Trucks, Massage Therapists, an Expert Tent, Dog Bandanas and Raffle Prizes. You can see Magic Mike and Elvis!
