The fun begins at 7:00 with the new Double! The traditional 5Krace starts at 8:00 AM on Saturday, May 9th. In between, there’s the Village Realty 1 mile fun run, for kid’s of all ages. The 5K course for both races is an out-and-back course that covers gently rolling terrain on hard-packed dirt in the woods. Cheer for Mom as she competes for the Fastest Mom on the Beach trophy! North Banks Rotary Club, in partnership with Outer Banks Kiwanis Club, hosts the race. All net proceeds go to support local charities, youth programs, and military relief charities.

The Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show is open to Dare County Arts Council members and residents of Dare County age 18 and over. Awards include Best in Show, Excellence Awards and Honorable Mentions, and a People’s Choice Award selected during the opening reception.
This show is held in memory of Mollie A. Fearing, one of the founders of the Dare County Arts Council. “My mom always used to say ‘if you feed them, they’ll come,’ and this holds true for this show. A mix of talented artists and good food will bring a great slice of people to the opening reception on May 1. The show provides quality exposure for our local artists in a wonderful environment,” said owner of Mollie A. Fearing & Associates and Mollie Fearing’s daughter Grizelle Fearing.

Run through Kinnakeet Shores on gorgeous Cape Hatteras, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This race terrain will keep you entertained the entire 3.1 miles, from paved roads through winding beautiful Kinnakeet Shores to wooden bridges, boardwalks, beach walkways, a few steps up and over the dunes and finally finishing with an unbelievable view of the Atlantic Ocean as the final stretch takes you to the beach. On opening night of The Lost Colony, RIHA will be dedicating the season of the Lost Colony to the National Park Service for the Centennial & kicking off a variety of activities.
