Andy Hendrickson was a showcase winner at HBOs U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen where he earned a spot at TBS The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas. He is a favorite headliner across the country as well as internationally. In addition he has performed throughout the Middle East to entertain US troops. Hes had multiple appearances on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio and TV show and his CD, Its Ready, airs regularly on Sirius Radio. Most recently Andy appeared on NBCs 30 ROCK! Annual East Coast Surfing Championship Moved

The Eastern Surfing Association has moved their annual East Coast Surfing Championships to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, NC following the devastation on Hatteras Island from Hurricane Irene. The weeklong competition will begin on September 18, 2011. The contest which is held annually, usually takes place at the old Cape Hatteras Lighthouse location, roughly 50 miles from where it will be held this year. The Eastern Surfing Association released the following statement.

The Art of the Costume dresses up Roanoke Island Festival Park’s Art Gallery October 2-31. Artists Joan Brumbach, Nancy Harvey and Genna Miles contribute handcrafted costumes, masks and headwear to the month-long show. A complimentary Meet the Artists reception October 7 from 6-8 p.m. gives visitors a chance to talk with the artists and gain insight into their process and inspirations.
